Transaction Emails PRO
Notify the vendor when they receive a payment, and the customer when their money is sent — both fired the moment the Stripe transfer succeeds.
PRO features, off by default. Enable them under Split Pay settings → Vendor Onboarding → Vendor Automation. These are separate from (and can be combined with) the admin-facing Transfer Confirmation Email.
Split Pay can notify both sides of a transaction the moment the money actually moves — i.e. when the Stripe transfer to the vendor's connected account succeeds, not merely when the order is placed.
Vendor email — "You received a payment"
Setting: Email vendors when they receive a payment.
Sent to the vendor each time a transfer to their connected account succeeds. The email includes the transferred amount (the vendor's share, in the currency the transfer was made in — the order currency, or your Stripe account's settlement currency when Stripe converted the payment), the order number, the product or products the payment is for, the Stripe transfer reference, and a note that funds follow their Stripe payout schedule.
With Reclaim refund shortfalls from a vendor's future transfers on, Split Pay can withhold part of a payment to recover that vendor's outstanding refund debt — the email then shows the amount actually sent. If Split Pay withholds the whole payment, it makes no Stripe transfer, but the vendor still gets this email for a payment of zero, with no Stripe transfer reference.
Recipient resolution — the email goes to the vendor's WordPress account email (the user whose connected account received the transfer). If no WordPress user matches the account, Split Pay falls back to the email Stripe has on file for the connected account.
Which products the vendor email names
The vendor email has a Product: line (Products: when it lists more than one) so your vendor can match the payment to what sold without opening the order. Each product appears under its name on the order, and a quantity above one shows as Name × 2.
- Product-level transfers — the email names the product on the order line that was paid. Each order line is paid by its own transfer, so a vendor paid for two different products in the same order gets one email for each.
- Product-level shipping transfers — the email names the product whose shipping was paid. It doesn't say the payment is for shipping, so a vendor who receives both a product transfer and a shipping transfer for the same item gets two emails naming the same product.
- Global transfers and global shipping transfers — these are calculated on the whole order, so the email lists every product on the order.
If Split Pay can't work out which product a payment is for, the email is sent without the product line. The rest of the message is unchanged.
Customer email — "Your money was sent"
Setting: Email customers when their money is sent to the vendor.
Sent to the order's billing email once their payment has been transferred to the vendor. It confirms the order total the customer paid and names the vendor it went to.
The customer email is sent at most once per order — orders containing multiple vendors or retried transfers will not email the customer repeatedly. It complements WooCommerce's standard order emails rather than replacing them.
Customizing the emails
Both emails are standard WooCommerce emails. Once their setting is enabled, they appear under WooCommerce → Settings → Emails as:
- Split Pay: Vendor Payment Received
- Split Pay: Money Sent Confirmation
There you can edit the subject and heading, switch between HTML/plain text, or disable an individual email without turning the feature's setting off.
Text you type in an email's Additional content box is added below Split Pay's own message, in both the HTML and plain-text versions. Vendors and customers see that text, so check anything you entered there.
When do they send?
Both emails trigger on Split Pay's spp_transfer_succeeded event — after the transfer is created on Stripe. With delayed transfers enabled, that means after the order is completed and the delayed transfer runs, not at checkout time.
